Biogeograhpy of the World
This was another class that just seemed to be made for me. It appealed to my fascination with animals and discussed the geography of what animal got where and how? That is always been a fascination of mine. It is just hard to fathom how animals made it out to remote islands in the sea, and it is very intriguing to me. Below are several papers I did for this class.
This is a paper that I wrote to discuss how the flightless birds, the moa and kiwi evolved to thrive in New Zealand. While the moa was eventually hunted to extinction by the Maori people, the Kiwi still thrives on the island to this day, and it is fascinating to see how once airborne creatures can evolve to be flightless due to the lack of predators. Were it not for humans, there would be some of the largest flightless birds in existence still alive in New Zealand to this day.

This is a paper discussing the effects of urbanization on animal life of an area. It can drive animals to places where they wouldn't normally be and over a period of time, they would eventually evolve and adapt traits suited to their new home. It is quite a fascinating concept.
